Circles aren't hopeless

If you were forced to communicate only with one of the following symbols which would it be? Draw a rectangle, a Z, a triangle, and a circle. Which would you choose? In the end this is a personality test, that our SS teacher showed us. Did you choose the rectangle? Then you're really intelligent. The Z? you're creative. The triangle is a leader. Well, what about the circles? Circles are apparently 'hopeless'.

I chose the circle this time round. Last time I easily eliminated the triangle and Z, and in the end I chose the rectangle. This time the same happened and I went with the circle. I'd forgotten that she'd done this to my old class before. I think she wasn't fair. Sure, that day my friend broke down in frustration with her situation with a project, not much earlier before we were given the 'test', and sure that other guy is prone to loud, frustrated arguments with the teacher, but we are NOT hopeless.

Sure, I am a procrastinator, and in a bit of a way I am 'hopeless', but isn't everyone? Doesn't everyone have their flaws? Aren't we all still great in our own means?

I looked as objectively as I could and found some similarities between us three circles. First we don't give up; we fight for what we believe in. We are all excellent writers (well, I've never read anything of the guy's but he does well in English.) And finally we are compassionate. and caring when it comes to others. We're the people who give the Z's inspiration to keep going. We're the ones who the triangles lead. We are there when the intelligent people come to a dead end. We're the ones who care for everyone else, and isn't that a personality trait?

I'm scraping that personality test's view on circles. Compassionate people are not 'hopeless'! Just because we put others before ourselves does not mean that we are somehow not proper people!

To many of you this little blogging blimp will mean nothing, but you're wrong. I want to prove that we circles are not hopeless and are instead compassionate. If you are a compassionate circle, I would love it if you left an online name (I will delete the real, or real looking ones) and said 'I am a compassionate circle!' it would make me a lot happier.

Also not to get too off topic, but while writing this I came up with something that the Hogwarts sorting hat might be interested in. You see, I believe that rectangles are Ravenclaws, Z's are Hufflepuffs, triangles are Gryffindors, and we circles are Slytherins.

Many of you would say that that makes it worse to be a circle, but there is something I like to call a Slytherin complex that you should be made aware about.

The Slytherin complex basically states some things you might have overlooked. First of all Rowling only introduces us to the worse Slytherins. This creates the illusion that all Slytherins are bad, and I will admit that most are. But Slytherins go into things with compassion for what they are doing, with the cunningness and other things to do it all. Most Slytherins goals aren't that good because households that seem to be ones for compasionate people are usually either really nice or really mean. In the wizarding world I think it is understandable that with power like that many do not do well with compassion for things. Look at Dumbledore! He was compassionate about gaining the Hallows but eventually realized that power and compassion for glorious yet bad things doesn't equal anything good.

Hmm you know I could probably write a book on this...

Anyway, I'm tired and have stuff to do tomorrow so...

From your circle/slytherin friend w/ a hint of ravenclaw,

Oceansurferg

Update: I remembered this fanfic that proves the Slytherin complex rather well. On HPFF it's called 'there once was a darkness' which follows an unknown slytherin in the same year as Harry.

Update 2: It's 'once there was a darkness' not 'there once was a darkness' sorry if you tried to read it, but didn't get it.

Guitar, UK, and other random things

Two consecutive days with two posts. Go me! Sorry it's just the randomness taking over... I'm actually supposed to be working on stuff, but I'm a procrastinator :) So what's stuff to talk about? Hmm... I know! Let's talk about colors, because I'm, like, a totally bored procrastinator! My fav color is green, but come on, who doesn't like green? Okay so maybe some people don't, but I do, so just live with it! Yeah, umm I can't think of anymore color stuff.

Okay, so I want to learn to play the guitar. Why? Because I'm tired of singing without music, because I hear the music in my head, but others just think I'm weird. Not that I'm offended. I take weird as a compliment because; weird means different, and if we weren't different then we would all be the same, and that would just be sucky. Man I'm lame, can't even swear in English properly. I can swear in other languages properly, but not in my first language.

Anyway back to what I was saying before. For my b-day I want a guitar, and one of those essential elements books for guitar, because it's REALLY easy to teach yourself with EE. And then once I've gotten past about halfway, more or less, in the book, I will buy this book from the UK's amazon that has KT's songs from Eye to the Telescope. They don't sell it on the American one.

You know, when I'm done with college I think I want to move there. I mean, the US is kinda just going down the drain. Plus I can pull off an English accent if I'm trying. Plus, to make a joke, I want to be an English teacher! Or a book reviewer, or a musician, or a high school band director. Yet again I find myself glad I'm not picking out a profession yet.

Phase ten, and YAY!!!

Today I have a quote!!!! It's a cheezy quote, yes, but it's a quote that I like. Here it is; If music be the food of love play on, play on - Shakespeare. Don't ask me what play because I have no damn clue. Anyway I like this quote because of two reasons, maybe three. First, because I like to sing a lot, and I'm really into playing my instrument, and I feel that a moment without music is a moment lost. The second reason is that I like romance fanfics. I despise romance novels, yet somehow I just can't live without the existence of romance HP fanfics.

On the topic of fanfics, I think that I'm slowly drifting away from my crazy addiction. So I'm getting a real life!!! YAY!! Go me!!

Now for the topic at hand... Phase Ten... Dun Dun Dun! I've discovered that it's really annoying when you have too many players. We were playing with six people today and it got so confusing. So my question to you, is... Does cheese make it easier to remember what's going on in a card game? And if so, can it be canned cheese? And what about crackers? End randomness.

You can FINALLY pre-order Forever Dawn on amazon. So that gets a yay! Umm more yay... My birthday is soon YAY! And umm, cheese is taking over the universe, YAY!

I've started using labels too. I plan to go and enter labels to every post...

Change on race status.

Okay so the last (and only) time I wrote about the election I was for Obama. Here's the thing... I wasn't really that well informed on my decision, and was probably basing it on the fact that he's an Illinois senator (GO IL!) So anyway, in class we're doing debates on the race, and because of this, I visited all the campaign websites. Looking at them I realized that Ron Paul should be running. I know that he has no chance, and that I'm not going to change anything, and I accept this. But that doesn't mean I can't think he should be Prez. Anyway, basically the reason I like him for prez is because he is going to fix this nations dieing economy. But he has this as his framework for the rest of his race [however short it will be (probably won't last till April at the most)], and he points out that if we fix the economy it will be easier to fix other things. He thinks we're wasting our time and money in Iraq, and that we're technically doing it illegally because congress never declared war. He also wants states and local governments to have more control.

Okay rant over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now onto the big ticket question. What are the top four best tasting cheeses when moldy? If you just type your top four choices into that sexy looking box for comments, I will be sure to chose the most wanted ones for the next poll. (Note: toe cheese does not get moldy and henceforth, does not count.) Yah so drop me a line in the sexy box!

And the part that is basically for Jen... Well I have my 'professional' summary. Although I'm not really all that sure it's professional. So anyways, here it is.

It's Common Sense By ___________
(fill in my real name there or for those who don't know it go with Oceansurferg)

I’m Amy Howards, one of the smartest kids in school. I have a secret, several actually. I spy on people, my parents have basically abandoned my sister and I, my neighbor and secret reliance is beaten by his father, my best friend who everyone seems to believe me in love with is bisexual, my other best friend is actually a triplet (though I don’t get why it’s a secret). And all of these secrets keep sifting, and the longer they sift, the harder they are to keep. Sometimes it’s best to just use common sense…

Okay so Jen, just tell me if you want the story and I will totally let you read some. (Nowhere near finishing unfortunately, but at least for once I know the plot hehe :D)

Nothing more to say except, wait a sec, is your fly unzipped? HAHAHA if you looked let me just say MADE YAH LOOK!

Too Many Books a Very Unlikely Chance to Finish Them All

So first I wanted to say that last post was really random for me. I don't know what consumed me to do it. Ah well, can't fight our subconsciouses... Can we? Like imagine it, an argument that will probably end up using your subconscious for your own side to fight against said ally. Can somebody yell out irony?

Hmm you probably want to know about the pic huh? Yah so I found this website called free rice dot com. It's kinda cool. You just answer vocabulary questions and for each question you get right they donate twenty grains of rice. Hmm probably not meant to be a spokesperson...

Okay now onto the title of the postymabobber. There are too many books in the world and much too little time. I mean just the teen category alone would probably take someone who can read two to three books a day near fifty years. And then of course someone would have to be reading all the new books that come out too! Hmm I wonder if such a job exists. I need to figure out a job for later...

Epiphany mode has activated! I could write book reviews for a newspaper. Then maybe I could make a career to work at a really good book review magazine (maybe I could even start my own!) That would be so boss... Hmm do you think I should get a degree in English if I'm interested in reviewing books? Hmm but what about being a musician. The decision could effect my life forever... Good thing I'm not deciding now:)

Also I may be interested in destroying a few people who were keeping music that I like from me. I mean who would keep Linkin Park, Coldplay, or Michelle Branch from me! Then again not many are too informed in what my music likings are.

The person who says weird things like "that's boss',

It's the Introvert Life

Don't freak guys, I'm still going to do those obsessive list thingys. It's just easier to space them out yah know? So anyway on to the topic at hand!

So lately I've been bored so I googled introvert. It's totally freaky. Like for one I've realized what a total introvert I am. Sure I don't come off like that at all on the web, but, like, that's because you can't see me. If you observed me for about an hour you would see how uncomfortable I am with being forced with people (Especially mum, she's a chatterbox). School is one of the most draining affairs that I'm required to do everyday. Especially lunch... I prefer to spend that time in the library instead so I can read or get stuff done. I'm also really reserved, unlikely to talk to anyone else unless I have to.

At my old school I got my first friend in a snap because we were rather forced together by fate. Lockers were by each others. Had most of our classes together. Our last names put us together in many classes (at least at the beginning, the teachers learned too quick...)

At this new school fate has decided to take a vacation off in some distant land... So for my first day I tried to do what I did at my old school. Make friends with the first person who's warm with you. Apparently that doesn't always work so hotly, because the girl wasn't really the type of person I should be friends with. So the week goes on...

Then with luck I notice that another girl who's in most of my classes (even sitting by me in a few) doesn't seem to be really outgoing. Well we clicked! She turned out to be a swell friend, and she was always willing to let me listen if I let her listen (that's right not talk.) Then after break my schedule changes and I only get to see her at recess, because everyone has that at the same time.

In this new schedule I'm kind of uncomfortable because the teachers are different with my new classmates (new to me.) In SS there are way to many group things, and everyone already has there own niche and I'm just screwing it up. In science it's ok, but that's because my teach does a lot of more independent stuff. Math was cool I like my teacher, but again the niches are made, luckily though, so far anyway this class is more of a do problems thing so that's good. Health was just awkward, but the tension broke up a bit when I said this guy's name was Robin instead of Robert, and everyone laughed... I'll admit that I did too.................. I've got more classes but these were really the stand out things of the day.

Oh wait, no! I forgot about our discussion in band. The directer didn't have us play anything, but instead talked about how this is the year of the rat and that this is going to be a bad year for him (he's apparently a horse.) This of course started one of his trademark way off topic 'Are you sure that you're supposed to be teaching band?' discussions. Class ended with him talking about how he wasn't sure he could rely on us tubas. Says we look shifty. Of course then he goes on to badmouth all the other instruments... as usual. I'm really going to miss him as director, he's very umm unique.

Yah so that's it for now.

Signing off,

Obbsessive Lists: Part One

Hello all! Today I have decided to write some lists. I'm starting to realize how obsessed I am with things [writing, Harry Potter & other books, KT Tunstall just to name a few :) ] so I decided to list some things that may prove you to be obsessive with things. Now can anyone give a guess as to what todays list will be focused on. *My friend/vent/reader Jen raises her hand* 'Jen?' "Is it going to be about obsessions with how your wall looks?" I look at her strangely. 'Do you have an obsession with walls?' *Jen looks scared like I just revealed an enormous secret* 'no today the list will be about obsessions with writing my dear, insane friend' (A/N: Okay like this never happened and she doesn't have an obsession with walls. P. S. to Jen: If you do have an obsession with walls please tell me so I can edit this A/N :D)

Oceansurferg proudly presents The Marauders Map. *Jen coughs* I mean Obsessive writers list.

  1. Every new situation encountered you picture your current favorite character from your stories and how they would react.
  2. You've skived off doing things you should be doing so you can write.*
  3. You send your stories to anyone and everyone you can find.*
  4. Or perhaps you don't want your works to be stolen that you've copyrighted everything and won't let anyone see it. (A/N I feel sorry for whoever this applies to. Sharing your work with friends - or at least one perhaps a close friend/editor - is a great experience and is what writing is about.)
  5. You often carry a spiral around that you fill with your plot bunnies.*
  6. You start to carry the traits of a character you write about. (Please note, I don't mean that a character takes after you.)
  7. You think that you are the next J.K. Rowling, even though you've yet to finish a story.
  8. You go to http://www.behindthename.com/ to find the perfect names for your character. (Could also be an alike website)*
  9. You finished a novel in a year or less and are currently trying to find an agent.
  10. You are so persistent in trying to find an agent that even though 83 have turned you down. You simply will not let the character die. (A/N This is probably very unrealistic as I'm not that sure that Agents turn people down. Hmm perhaps with a lower number you could say publishers...)
  11. You use http://www.reference.com/ at least once a day that you write, to make sure you are using the word you were thinking of.*
  12. You are writing list such as this one because you feel that you know the subject like an expert.*
Okay so this was the first list. If you leave comments on list ideas I might edit this post and add a readers list. Oh and the stars mean that this is a trait of my own. Hehe I got 6/12 so lets say that if you get 4/12 or up you are an obsessive writer.

Your bloging servant,

Oceansurferg

P.S. I added the Xmas coloring at the last moment. Well technically the red as green is a regular color.

Dissappearance

I have disappeared for a long while from the online world. I mostly blame it on the fact that with a life going on around you it's hard not to drop the computer to hang with friends, enjoy the weather, or read a good book. I am back and this time I'm not promising anything, because when you promise something you can't keep easily usually it will fall through. Now that I have yet again stated my position in the world I invite my friends to try IMing me or talking to me... Or making contact at all if possible!
Since I have that out of the way I wanted to talk about the election, mostly because there is nothing left to talk about. First to get it out of the way I am an independent in my political choices. If you don't believe me last year I wanted Bush. (I may regret that choice now but I have learned!) Now this year I thing many can agree that barley anyone is paying attention to the republican party, which is understandable as most people -or at least in my small world- didn't even know who the people trying to run for the republicans were until about now.
The democrats is where I think this years president is. I think that currently for the democrats the two people sticking out are O'Bama and Clinton. Personally I think O'Bama should get the chance over Clinton because, in a way, she has already been president. When Clinton's husband was president she helped him a lot, and personally I think the two made some huge mistakes. O'Bama on the other hand has only been senator and he is more likely to do a better job.
Now as odd as this may sound to many of you I think that if Hillary Clinton runs I want Nater from I believe the green party. I would choose him for two reasons. First I do not believe the presidency lies with the Republicans this year. And second I think that Hillary would ruin the country.
Yah so that's basically it... Yah

Music!!

Oh my goodness I think music is taking over my whole existence. I haven't been able to do like ANY of my homework without music! This can drive a person who is already off the wall, into a mental institution.

I will now list all new bands that friends or other things have turned me onto, and addicted me to
  1. Coldplay - especially clocks
  2. Panic! At the Disco - only a few songs though
  3. Evanescence - I just got the CD and now it seems to be ALL I'm humming!
  4. All-American Rejects - recommended by the same person as #2, she has good music tastes!
  5. hmm actually I think that's it.
My life now seems to does it's revolutions around those bands + Dido (What would life be like with out Dido!?!?!), school (actually not too bad), juggling (I've also grown addicted to this), reading fanfictions to the extent of insanity, and moving it seems like every five seconds my friend mentions this and it's driving me insane!

And you think Labor Day Weekend was going to get me a life but NO! it just gives me a new band to be addicted to, and juggling to be addicted to (I got my set only on Saturday).

Reading Teddy Bears! Muahahaha!

So so so so so so sooooooo sorry I haven't posted lately. I was going to post on thursday but then there was the HUGE storm, and then there was a power outage yesterday, and then I was at my friends house when the power came on yesterday, so now we're to today where I have found the time to post. I'm writing a fan fiction for muggle net and I think I'll be able to put it in the cue by tomorrow. I'm not starting the copy and paste list yet because I haven't gotten enough comments so please if you have an idea post it, as soon as I get five I will post it.

I don't actually really have anything to say except for whats going on. I've been playing Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix the video game for the xbox and I finished hard story mode. Okay so I found a really good fan fiction on fanfiction dot net. It's called Of Different Ranks and Countries. I really think it's a good read. The link is http://www.fanfiction.net/s/1393409/1/Of_Different_Ranks_and_Countries. It's also where I got the name I've been using on MSN Messenger First Lady Laughs based on the name she uses First Lady Giggles. But the picture is mine! Because one day, reading teddy bears will rule the earth! JUST LIKE COPY AND PASTE BUNNIES! MUAHAHAHa!

I have a lot more links to give you that I've been using lately so next post (unless I get enough ideas for my copy and paste list) I will be doing a list of links because I have nothing better to do with my spare time than write random things that will have no importance in the future. Actually I do but I don't really want to. I'm a procrastinator! :D

Your procrastinating random meaningless thingamabober friend,
Oceansurferg

P.S. (This goes especially to Biggs429) I delete unkind, hurt full, mean comments or comments with swears. It means I have to work a lot harder on this blog and I have things to procrastinate on already so just don't do it. Also I delete coments that make no sense to anyone but the writer. Thank you for your time.
