Yes, that is the question. Seriously, maybe it's just my age group, but how come my friends aren't into 'My Name is Earl', 'How I met your mother', 'Two and a half men', '30 Rock', 'Big Bang Theory', 'House', 'Bones', and all that good stuff? This dilemma came to me when I was watching 'Bones', and 'Big Bang Theory' tonight (I didn't get to 'how I met your mother', and 'two and a half men'). I mean, am I seriously that out of the loop? I need to know when in the world this happened!
What's more, why don't my friends like the same music I do, at all, period. Well, I mean, we share some choice in music. How can one not share a small amount of music taste with me? The girl who has a little bit of everything. But nobody's into indie, or alternative, or British pop. I mean come on! What's a girl got to do to find people with her same entertainment interests. I fear that to find a person like that, I'd have to make friends with a guy. Been down that path, not interested.
You see my friends are into 'American Idol', the latest pop, and the friends in IL are into Disney, of all things. I mean, Miley and Zack and Cody are cute and all, but they're just annoying after about five minutes, yeah? Have these people ever heard of Teenick or, well, I forget what the channel's called, but, they're the one that used to share with noggin, and have Digrassi [(sp?), I don't really watch the show]. Well, anyways those are my kind of channels (can't forget Fox and CBS, but I meant for kiddie stuff).
Dang, now that's made me think of Nick at Nite and you do not want me to go into a tangent about that. But I will anyways. They used to have such good shows on that. I loved watching Rosanne, The Fresh Prince of Belaire (sp?), sometimes Full House, and when I was desperate, The Cosby Show. But they've replaced almost all my faves (not sure about fresh prince and Cosby Show, but if they are, they're on way too late). And guess what one of the shows they replaced it with is. Home Improvement. Ugh.
Wow, I sound like I'm my parent's age.
Sidebar: Does anyone know how long it's going to take for 'that 70s show' to end up on nick at nite, if ever?
Okay onto the good stuff. Here's your song of the day. 'Yellow', by Coldplay. It's in the CD Parachutes at the least. I absolutely love this song. I'm a cheese at heart... But I have this perfect image of a beautiful beach, (I think I'm thinking of one of the ones from the movie 'the beach', but I can't be sure), and it's always dark out with a starry field. I think part of the reason I imagine this is because I used to bring my ipod with me when I walked the dog. She always needs to go when it's dark out, and here the sky is so clear. God, in my head that sounded like I was gushing (after the comma not before, gushing in the before part seems odd, yeah?).
My homework is to choose music (sweet!), and I've decided that some of these songs deserve recognition. Trust me, if you know the context, song #6(7?), will be a laughathon (I made a word!). And if not, it's still a good song that deserves to be noticed.
Off to charge my ipod (don't think I've charged it in months),

Sunday, a day of rest.
Today's been a very nice day, here's why.
1) My day began with cheese cake and T.V. I used to have mornings with desert for breakfast with mindless T.V. a lot, so that was kind of nice.
2) I woke up with out an alarm at eight in the morning. I know that it's bonkers for me to say that's a good thing, but I like waking up early by myself. It makes me feel like I'm internally organized.
3) I had a mindless hour and a half phone conversation. I barely even payed attention to her, eating my lunch/desert (cheese cake again), making comments every once in a while. I like hearing my friends, it's soothing, even the ones that I tell them their voice is annoying on the phone, it's still soothing. Plus I didn't have to worry about minutes
4) I read today. A lot. Like, I basically woke up, went downstairs for a half hour, came back up to my room and read (eventually going into my parents' room - they have the best bed ever), the only interlude was dinner and the phone call.
5) Nobody in the house started going parent on me, reminding me to take a shower or brush my teeth. I utilized the opportunity by skipping the shower. For some reason, I think I end up dirtier than I began in the first place.
6) No homework. That's always the best, because it means you can just be lazy on a Sunday, not giving a care in the world.
7) I sang to Sara Bareilles for about an hour and a half without my mouth going dry, or throat getting clogged, or said throat hurting.
7) I had a good hair day, which is a rarity in itself as about 95% of the time my hair's hopeless. What's better is that usually on good hair days I take a shower, but I didn't today (see #5).
All in all, an absolutely great Sunday. It almost felt like I was having a lazy day in Illinois before the move. I'm definitely getting more comfortable here in the land of rainbows (seriously! I see about three a day).
I've made a re-aquantince (sp?) with one of my old friends from the begining of eighth grade. We used to hang out a lot more, but I was in my transition mode, and her friends freaked me out (they are a bunch of guys). But we've been reconnected over our love of books, and have hung out this weekend and the last.
Oh and speaking of yesterday, I went to see Nim's Island. Let me just say that it's a really funny movie. Especially when you have someone to point out 'that's what she said' esque jokes. I'll admit that I did contribute.
At the mall where I saw Nim's I also got a book. Even though I read it real quick I would definitely recommend 'Someone Like You'.
I did a little sudoku today as well, my record is ten minutes (I tend to loose focus. A lot).
And for the Finally here is your song of the day. Song #6 (I think) is Vegas by Sara Bareilles. It's been stuck in my head all day - no wait, since one in the morning (which I count as last night AKA yesterday). My fave part of the song has to be when the chorus comes round, it's really catchy. I also chose this song because I'm in a semi-jazzy mood. Yup, I'm weird. I also apparently can't spell 'because on a computer as one of my hands moves faster than the other when I type that word. (That wasn't random, I'd just misspelled 'because' for a third time).
To hoping you had as great a day as me!

PS: One of the Fanfics that I was (and am, I'm not finished yet) is 'Epitaph of a good man' by toomanycurls on HPFF (see side bar) I totally recommend the Tonks/Lupin fic.

Ugh! And so the Frustration Begins...
Okey dokey my friend type peoples. I haven't posted in near a week. I swear it's not my fault! Okay... So maybe it is, but so what? Anyways here's why I haven't posted.
1) I forgot my login name.
- I hadn't logged in for forever, and mom logged in, completely screwing me up. But the basicness is that I didn't realize that I didn't need '@gmail.com'. I kept putting that in, and it kept rejecting me.
2) A friend stayed over last weekend.
-I had a friend come over, and the day she left I went to write an entry but got distracted.
3) The first day I was simply frustrated with my lack of color, and decided I didn't want to write in black in white.
- Seriously! Who took away my color? Ugh!
Anyways guys - if there actually are any of you - I'm explicitly sorry for any disappointments I may or may not have caused. Especially since I promised you a song.
But I'm going to make it up to you all by giving you something very special! *Begins Game Show Voice* Today I'm giving you two songs, but that's not all! The winner *Frowns when told this isn't a game show*, I mean you also get a preview of my fiction press story. It currently has two entries from Sadie, but, since I'm already at the eight or ninth, I'm giving you a two paragraph preview from the next entry.
Oh, and I've come up with a better name for her friend, I just haven't changed it yet, not even on my computer.
The first song I give you is 'Drive' by Incubus. I chose it because I used to hear this song a lot when I was little. And well, I've realized that I still like my favorite songs from five and six. Maybe it's happy memories?
Oh and this reminds me. Dad got this absolutely ridiculous laptop. It's tiny. And has almost no memory. I want to know what in the world he plans to do with that tiny thing. He might not even know himself...
So here's your preview from my story. Enjoy guys! You deserve it.
During Algebra II yesterday, Mr. Weston became the first teacher to crack in regards to me. He asked me a question, and I showed him my spiral as an answer. He told me that if I didn’t speak it would be detention. I didn’t speak, and got detention yesterday.
Detention wasn’t something new. Miss Hamilton from seventh grade would give me one weekly (I only had her weekly) for not talking. I will agree that drama does involve speaking, but why can’t I just get the part of a mime or something? Or an extra, that would have worked really well with me.
Hope you liked that.
Now for the second song of today. 'Absolutely (Story of a Girl)' by Nine Days. This song is the one that I remember explicitly. I have no clue why I remember this one the second most (most to come later) from my Iceland days, but I don't care, I think that it's a sweet song.
Now, even though it's Friday, I have work I need to get done (because somebody forgot to come to the library to work on a project with me and now we're screwed).
Have a fantabulously bizarre weekend,
Oceansurferg

Hungry
Okay, umm, starting to get really jacked off at whoever this person is who took away my colors.
Hello, my name is Oceansurferg, and I'm hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry. Hungry.
Surely you get the point, yes? Well, I don't care. I'm soooooooooo hungry. We have nothing in the fridge whatsoever. All there is, is lunch meat, cheese, and beverages that the system won't let me have. See, I wasn't lieing about there being nothing in the fridge. There's nothing good in the pantry. I tried the soup in a can, chicken noodle one. Disgusting, utterly disgusting. Seriously, as of right now it's 4:55. Why does dinner always have to happen after six when there are adults? Can't they just make food magically appear or something? I'm getting hungry here! And to leave a fridge so barren... Have people in this world not heard of grocery stores?
Okay rant over. I guess. Still doesn't change that I'm hungry. Leave it to my pretzel jar to disappear...
Song later tonight!

Song #3/fishbowl universes
Hello! I'm really finding this all very weird... Blogging nearly everyday and whatnot. Oh, and, as usual, the dang color and all that good stuff is gone. I want to find out who did it...
I have made a very strange bet/contest/test thing with someone in my homeroom. We were arguing over something that made absolutely no sense whatsoever, and now we're in the middle of a battle of the squiggly pictures. I need to figure out what in the world happened.
Also, never try to explain the universe by using a fishbowl. The idea of the universe fitting inside one is unnerving to say the least, because that would mean another big bang was going to happen soon. Although, he meant scale the universe or something along those lines, but it's still unnerving to me. Perhaps I'm claustrophobic?... Nah!
Okey-Dokey, on to the song! This day's song, and song number three is....................................................................................
Song of the Cebu by Veggie Tales! JK, JK. But still, you have to admit it's a catchy song...that makes no sense...and talks about bulls...with random slideshows...All and all, it's a kids song!
And that reminds me. Search google pictures for dik-diks. They are these really cute antelope related species, and, well, just look! They're really cute...
Oh, right, the real song. Okay! Song numero uno es Imaginary by Evanescence. I've decided that finding the youtube videos is pointless, because at this point, I'm pretty sure you know how to use the search engine on youtube. I chose imaginary, because this used to be one of my favorite songs. Crazy to imagine how much life changes, huh? Also the picture it creates in my mind is remarkable! I wish I could take a snapshot for you all so see, but alas! I cannot :(
From the overdramatic,
Oceansurferg
Update: It was song numero tres, not uno, but I felt like it was an uno day, yah know? Maybe I should have played uno... Bye!

Song #2
Hello All! (which is probably no one)
Do I really need to mention that the ability to center, color, and all of that stuff isn't working?
Okay, I was going to do another song yesterday, but as I mentioned two days ago, I was sick. I was passed out for half the day, and had no energy to type words on a computer screen. Also, I would have posted earlier today, but I was absorbed in Eclipse, poor Jacob...
Um no more news about m'self, so best get on with the song, yeah?
Song number two is Title and Registration by Death Cab for Cutie. I'm not giving a link, because I only skimmed over the first half minuet or so, and freaked out a bit. I chose this song because I think it means renewal. I also believe it to be a great song to listen to when you're cleaning. Gives your cleaning a sense of purpose yeah?
I'm quite buggered now, honestly. This is the first time I ever read Eclipse and realized Jacob's point of view, and it's a rather confusing concept on its own, without Bella's love involved in the picture.
That's all for now

Blogging, rolos, and my friends according to Oceansurferg
Well still no color or any of that stuff. It's driving my quite bonkers that is.
I think I may be becoming a bit attached to blogging. I think it's because, with my old friends I could share my thoughts (which are extraordinarily long and complicated) and no one would interrupt or anything. But with my new friends, there are just too many of us for me to be able to do anything like that, plus when I first came into the group, it was when I didn't talk whatsoever. And, well, I just need an outlet for these clogging thoughts.
I have a runny nose. Normally I don't think much of it, but I have a headache, and when I have a headache, it means I'm sick. As long as it's in combo with something else, and not after I've just run the mile... It's all mum's fault. She went and got bronchitis (sp?). You know, my immune system's probably so good because of how often she gets sick. It has to fight viruses a lot. However, mum says she's sick when she's only sneezing.
I've decided what my new favorite candy is. Rolos. I've never really thought much of them, but they have to be the best combination ever rolled up into a candy. I got some at the mini mart today. I've had them before, but not often or anything. I'm rather glad I got them. The orange juice I'm drinking for the cold is making me hungry, and candy fills you up quick. Or, at least it's supposed to.
My book 'City of Bones' is missing. I realized it yesterday, because I went to grab it from my bag and it wasn't there. I had another book there at the time, so I just thought 'I'll look for it later'. But now it's annoying as hell because I finished the other book.
My friend said that I talk like a textbook. So not cool! I don't talk like that, do I? I thought I only wrote my essays like that. (Something that they tried to edit out of my essay for science, but you can't change someone's style of writing.) People seem to think I come off as some sort of smarty pants. I'm not really like that anymore though. Problem is that these people are so closed minded that they can't think past their first impression of me. Well, at least, they come off that way.
I want to find out what a biscuit is in British terms. I'm reading the fanfiction 'The World, Biscuits and Sirius Black according to Nellie O'Neal' Unsurprisingly a large factor in Nellie's life is her love of biscuits. Her biscuit of choice being digestives. The only thing is, well, I want to know what in the world a biscuit is! That's my only question.
Okay well, I need to go sleep, as it should lower the pain of this headache, that and I'm dead tired, as being sick tends to create people.

Song #1
Okay color and all that stuff is still gone :( but the show must go on. (Or blog, whatever...)
My first song is just to get it out of the way, (sort of). Actually, my thought process is that if I post it, it might just walk out of my mind as 'elevator music' that isn't so elevatory (yes I understand that it's not a word. Gosh!)
Now, how this is going to work. I'll leave you the song name, who it's by, and a link to the youtube video (as most don't have html codes to use). Then you will find the song on a new list in the sidebar called '100 songs to listen to (according to me)'. I'll leave the date I posted it too, that way, if you want to, you can find the post it was on.
This post's song is 'White Houses' by Vanessa Carlton. The link is:

The video is kind of (okay, definitely) a bit weird. But the song is why I'm posting the link.
No news really. Well except that it's another boring weekend here in the sun. Rainy seasons been over for a while, and now I'm actually getting what the difference is. It barely rains anymore, and when it does, it's hard rain.
Also, in an effort to get a certain friend to read my story that I kept sending her, here is a quote 'Wow my mind is wandering today. Need to stop eating the fruity pebbles...'
I'm posting this story on fiction press, and yet, well... This might be the first story I actually finish, and for some reason, I don't want people to read it. Weird huh? I've written enough to create three more posts to fiction press, but I haven't even updated the first one with the edits my beta made.

100..........
Okay so the color button has disappeared which means no color :( The font button has disappeared as well...
Anyways, hello all! I've decided against doing the movie (too much work), but for those who were wondering what it was going to be, well, I'll tell you. The story I'm writing, Throwing Common Sense out the Window, written as a movie. I realized that it would be very different, and well, also, it's a bit hard to make a movie about a person who doesn't speak. So that's being thrown out the window as well...
I told my friend about another idea, and I think it's more doable. You see, I managed to convince three of my friends to read the Twilight series (Well four, but I won't give him the book, he wants to read it for pervy reasons, but that's just how he is, so we didn't think much of it). So my thought process was, let's do a podcast! Yeah, I'm a bit peppy...
Okay so I have a cool idea. I want to do a listing of 100 songs I like, one for each post, with youtube video if it's there.
Or I could just do a long list of a bunch of songs. Your choice.
Well, actually, nobody reads this... So it's my choice, but still... It's the thought that counts.
I'm super sorry that this was late, I got caught up in stuff...
A good book that I started reading is 'I'd tell you I love you, but then I'd have to kill you' by Ally Carter. It's about a girl who goes to spy school and... Well I don't want to spoil it or anything. Just read it, it's good.
Right now I'm listening to a lot of Vanessa Carlton. I probably have three CDs I want. The two by Vanessa Carlton, and Drastic Fantastic by KT Tunstall. I think I get hooked on new music every other week, yet I never tire of the old (dido, and fiona apple may be exceptions though, and Avril Lagvine, and, hmm maybe it's more than I think...)
You guys have no idea how much there is to talk about. If you're interested IM me. (Jen I would be rather happy if you did,;D)
Hmm, seems there's no center button either.

PS: If you haven't noticed I've changed some of the colors, nothing major, but still... :)

My name is Lisa: A short film
The Youtube awards winners have been announced. I didn't vote in all categories, but besides the commentary category, all of my picks won. My favorite film was 'My Name is Lisa' in the short films category. It is a Shelton Films production, that has made it to semifinals, and honorable mentions in other contests/awards as well. The story is basically about a girl coping with her mothers Alzheimers disease. I think it's rather heartbreaking, yet inspirational all the same. They're planning on making a Movie called my name is Lisa with the response they're getting to the short film.
This is going to stay rather short for now, but I'm updating tomorrow about a film I want to do myself. If you want a hint about it, read my fiction press story.
Lots of love (to friends, not random strangers),
Oceansurferg
Update: If you read this maybe two minuets ago, I forgot to put up the film, it's down below.
